Dragon Boat Race Team Information
and Race Arrangements

Team Information

1.1 Team Name The team name must be provided upon application. Applications with missing or invalid team names will not be processed.
1.2 Team Name and Organization The team name will be published in race materials. Teams must also provide the organization name. If the team does not belong to any organization, please fill in “Private Team”.
2. Team Manager and Contact Person
2.1 The team manager serves as the emergency contact and is responsible for all matters related to the team during the race.
2.2 Only inquiries and requests submitted by the team manager in written form (email) will be accepted. The organizer will confirm upon receipt.

Race Registration – Entry Group & Crew

1. Crew Number

a. Small Boat Categories Each boat must have a minimum of 8 paddlers and a maximum of 12 paddlers, plus 1 steersman and 1 drummer. All participants must be at least 12 years old.

b. Standard Boat – Mixed & Open Categories Each boat must have a minimum of 14 paddlers and a maximum of 18 paddlers, plus 1 steersman and 1 drummer. All participants must be at least 12 years old.

2.Gender of Steersman and Drummer No gender restriction applies to steersmen and drummers in all categories.

3.Crew Requirements by Category
• Standard Boat - Open: No gender restriction
• Standard Boat - Mixed: Minimum 6 paddlers of each gender
• Small Boat - Open: No gender restriction
• Small Boat - Mixed: Minimum 4 paddlers of each gender
• Small Boat - Women: All paddlers must be female; steersman and drummer may be male
• Small Boat - Public Services: No gender restriction
• Small Boat - Community: No gender restriction

Race Day Arrangement – Marquee

1. The Association provides one marquee (3m × 3m × 2.5m) per team. Teams are not permitted to use their own marquees

2. Unauthorized promotional activities are strictly prohibited. Teams may hang a banner (team name / logo only) at the front of the marquee, size limited to 300cm (width) × 20cm (height). All banners/flags must be placed inside the marquee for identification only. Violation will incur a HK$10,000 advertisement fee.

3.Marquee locations are allocated by the Association. Reserving a specific location costs an additional HK$1,000 per booth. Contact the Association for details.

4. Requests for cancellation or additional marquee rental must be made via email and confirmed by the Association. No cancellation is accepted within 2 weeks before race day.

Race Day Arrangement – Steersman

1. Official Steersman Hiring an official steersman costs HK$800, covering up to 3 rounds.

2.Non-Official Steersman Registering a non-official steersman for a one-day pass costs HK$300.

Team Manager Meeting

1. The meeting will cover new rules, starting procedures, draw system, transportation, etc. All team managers must attend (team captain may attend together).

2.Details of the meeting will be announced later.

Payment

1. Entry fees are non-refundable, even in case of withdrawal. Payment must be settled upon submission.

2. Enrollment is confirmed only upon receipt of payment.

3. No cheque payments accepted within 2 weeks of the race; please use bank transfer instead.

4. Proof of payment must be emailed to the Association for confirmation.

Enrollment Informations

1. The Liability Waiver must be submitted to the Association at least 2 weeks before the race.

2. Team name may be changed once within 2 weeks after submission via email. Any further changes will incur a HK$500 administration fee.

3. Any changes to contact information (contact person, address, phone number, etc.) must be notified to the Association via email as soon as possible.

Important Notes

1. Please read all race-related documents thoroughly, including but not limited to the Race Manual and Race Rules & Regulations.

2. Confirmation receipt will be issued after enrollment is completed. Processing takes at least 10 working days.
